In the 26th match minute, Atlético Alagoano was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Carlos Fernando Queirós to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, Atlético Alagoano's Joel Severo got a free kick in the 31st minute. Pedro Barreto received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. Geovânio Ortiz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 42 played minutes Atlético Alagoano got a freekick which was hit by Carlos Fernando Queirós. A hard shot by William Costa from long distance, 43 minutes into the match, got Geovânio Ortiz's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Pedro Barreto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Atlético Alagoano's zone, Anselmo Branco stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Geovânio Ortiz came out of the goal and Anselmo Branco tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Legolas Futebol Club's Ronaldinho Pimenta played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by João Augusto Reis in the 52nd minute of play. Luiz Fernando Martins's late challenge caught a Atlético Alagoano's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Luiz Fernando Martins helped the player get up and apologised. Luiz Fernando Martins kicked well hit freekick during the 53rd minute of the match. 57 minutes into the match, Anselmo Branco notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of Atlético Alagoano's Geovânio Ortiz. Geovânio Ortiz was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. João Augusto Reis recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 61st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 67 minutes into the match, Legolas Futebol Club's goal looked a bit too open when Hélio Silveira came free, but Ronaldinho Pimenta reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Anselmo Branco in the 71st minute of play forced Atlético Alagoano's goalkeeper Geovânio Ortiz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Geovânio Ortiz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Anselmo Branco in the 72nd minute of the match. João Augusto Reis might have been able to make a better finish in the 76th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ronaldinho Pimenta. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. João Augusto Reis ran back to his position shaking his head. Ronaldinho Pimenta made a fantastic save in the 82nd minute, when Hélio Silveira sent off a good shot on target. Geovânio Ortiz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Anselmo Branco in the 91st minute of play. 96 minutes into the match, Legolas Futebol Club's goal looked a bit too open when João Augusto Reis came free, but Ronaldinho Pimenta reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
