Hélio Silveira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Simão Vargas having to interfere. Simão Vargas took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from João Augusto Reis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when João Augusto Reis stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After 54th play minutes João Augusto Reis shot 1-0, a short shot which went by Simão Vargas and just under the crossbar into goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by João Augusto Reis in the 67th minute of play forced Paraju's goalkeeper Simão Vargas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Hélio Silveira in the 76th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Simão Vargas prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Simão Vargas came out of the goal in the 77th minute to try and stop a shot by Atlético Alagoano's João Augusto Reis. But to his dismay, João Augusto Reis quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. Simão Vargas showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from João Augusto Reis, who was totally free with the ball in the 86th minute. If Genílson Pinho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 98th minute, João Augusto Reis ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Simão Vargas was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-0. Atlético Alagoano walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
