Deivid Moreno hit a great freekick 8 minutes into the match. Roberto Linares received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 9th minute. Geovânio Ortiz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Atlético Alagoano's zone, Roberto Linares stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Geovânio Ortiz came out of the goal and Roberto Linares tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Roberto Linares sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 19th minute Dráuzio Mineiro suffered a thigh injury and had to be helped off the field. After 20 minutes, Deivid Moreno mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Atlético Alagoano and the SELETIMÃO players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 20th minute, Deivid Moreno hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Roberto Linares sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Hélio Silveira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sydney Alvarenga having to interfere. 35 minutes into the match, Atlético Alagoano's goalkeeper Geovânio Ortiz had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Roberto Linares. In the 39th minute, Edu Dias hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Roberto Linares's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Geovânio Ortiz firmly grabbed it by the left post. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Roberto Linares made the kick off in the second half. Hélio Silveira was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 52nd minute. Atlético Alagoano's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Hélio Silveira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 57th minute. Sydney Alvarenga tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Roberto Linares fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Geovânio Ortiz having to interfere. Sydney Alvarenga made a fantastic save in the 62nd minute, when Hélio Silveira sent off a good shot on target. In the 64th minute of the match, Hélio Silveira got a very nice opportunity to score, but Sydney Alvarenga was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Zé Pedro Madureira, 66 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Hélio Silveira in the 68thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Sydney Alvarenga, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Roberto Linares's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Geovânio Ortiz read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 70th minute of play. João Augusto Reis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Roberto Linares had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Edu Dias received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 83rd minute. Geovânio Ortiz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Hélio Silveira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sydney Alvarenga having to interfere. After having played for 95 minutes, Roberto Linares managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SELETIMÃO's supporters crossed their fingers, but Roberto Linares was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.
