Sydney Alvarenga showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luiz Fabiano França in the 3rd minute of the match. Sydney Alvarenga stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Felipe Nogueira's shot from short distance in the 5th minute. Luiz Fabiano França kicked well hit freekick during the 6th minute of the match. After 10 played minutes Rubinho Mendonça rounded Guaraipos FC's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 1-0. Rubinho Mendonça fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hélio Varela having to interfere. The supporters of SELETIMÃO booed when Guaraipos FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cafu Hermes didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the match had gone on for 20 minutes, Abelardo Antunes put it in 1-1 from a short distance just to the right of Sydney Alvarenga. The audience was convinced that Felipe Nogueira's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Sydney Alvarenga was relentless in the 23rd minute of the game. If Felipe Nogueira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 29 minutes into the match, Guaraipos FC's Felipe Nogueira sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Sydney Alvarenga narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Abelardo Antunes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 30th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Sydney Alvarenga didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Abelardo Antunes went, in the 33rd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-2 was the resulting score. Abelardo Antunes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Sydney Alvarenga tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Abelardo Antunes made the kick off in the second half. Guaraipos FC's Abelardo Antunes got a good chance for a goal in the 63rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The audience was convinced that Rubinho Mendonça's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Hélio Varela was relentless in the 74th minute of the game. In the 78thth minute of the game Abelardo Antunes who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but SELETIMÃO's Sydney Alvarenga was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 85 minutes in the game, Abelardo Antunes dribbled his way through the penalty area and after maneuvering past an opponent, drilled a quick shot at the goal. The ball looked like it was going in, but it was hit a bit too hard and flew over the goal. Felipe Nogueira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The Guaraipos FC players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
