After a defensive mix-up in AGF 22 de Janeiro's zone, Chico Galvão stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Umberto Cunha came out of the goal and Chico Galvão tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 34th minute, Oséias Chaves ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Betinho Lara was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. Maurinho Rossi who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 38thth minute tested the skills of Umberto Cunha when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Luiz Eduardo Penha kicked well hit freekick during the 38th minute of the match. In the 41st minute, Geovani Vargas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Betinho Lara took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hílton Hermes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Chico Galvão might have been able to make a better finish in the 46th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Umberto Cunha. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Chico Galvão ran back to his position shaking his head. The CACIQUE FC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. AGF 22 de Janeiro were winning 0-2.

The wind increased when Dadá Ramalho made the kick off in the second half. If Chico Galvão had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. In the 57th minute, Dadá Ramalho fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Betinho Lara, passed just outside the right post. Umberto Cunha showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Chico Galvão in the 65th minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Chico Galvão in the 66th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Umberto Cunha saved AGF 22 de Janeiro from getting behind. After having played for 71 minutes, Chico Galvão managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. CACIQUE FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Chico Galvão was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Maurinho Rossi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 79th match minute, CACIQUE FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Chico Galvão to maneuver through the defense. Umberto Cunha came out of the goal in the 83rd minute to try and stop a shot by CACIQUE FC's Maurinho Rossi. But to his dismay, Maurinho Rossi quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. Chico Galvão received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. Umberto Cunha tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
