When Armando Rossi came up free with the goalie in the 14th minute, the Machado F.C. fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Armando Rossi couldn't finish the play. Gilson Matorin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Carlos Fernando Salgado, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Luiz Fernando Capixaba took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 20th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Gilson Matorin. Machado F.C.'s goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Gilson Matorin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Walmyr Pereira in the 23rd minute of play. Róbson Vianna kicked well hit freekick during the 27th minute of the match. Machado F.C.'s Gilson Matorin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Carlos Fernando Salgado in the 33rd minute of play. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Alfredo Sousa was the one to do the kick off. When Carlos Fernando Salgado came up free with the goalie in the 51st minute, the Tupipano FC fans jumped to their feet. Diogo Eger stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Armando Rossi's shot from short distance in the 53rd minute. 59 minutes into the match, Armando Rossi had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Diogo Eger. Tupipano FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Armando Rossi was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. The Machado F.C. fans cheered their team off the field, for while Tupipano FC had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
