With an all-out effort, Barranquinho's Donato Mazza threw himself towards the right post 4 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Rafa Neves, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. The crowd rose to their feet as Barranquinho's Rafa Neves slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Donato Mazza. That made the score 1-0 after 8 minutes of play. When Rafa Neves came up free with the goalie in the 12th minute, the Barranquinho fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rafa Neves couldn't finish the play. Rafa Neves fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Donato Mazza having to interfere. 25 minutes into the game, Lenílson Fernandes was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Barranquinho's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Itacaja SS the free kick. In the 26th minute, Lenílson Fernandes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 27th match minute, Itacaja SS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sandro Aparecido to maneuver through the defense. In the 33rd minute Rafa Neves shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Donato Mazza saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Rogério Peixoto received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Donato Mazza tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Pedro Augusto Silveira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Reinaldo Pitta in the 41st minute of the match. Itacaja SS's Delfim Pinheiro got a good chance for a goal in the 48th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Reinaldo Pitta to strike the kick off in the second half. After 53 played minutes Itacaja SS got a freekick which was hit by Delfim Pinheiro. Donato Mazza took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rafa Neves, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Donato Mazza showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rafa Neves in the 71st minute of the match. 75 minutes into the game, Rafa Neves cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-0. Donato Mazza was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After some careless play in the Itacaja SS defense, Rafa Neves kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Donato Mazza. The Itacaja SS fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Donato Mazza should have stopped the shot. When Rogério Peixoto came up free with the goalie in the 83rd minute, the Barranquinho fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rogério Peixoto couldn't finish the play.
