An unexpectedly hard shot by Vitinho Bastos in the 4th minute of play forced Barranquinho's goalkeeper Pedro Augusto Silveira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience was convinced that Vitinho Bastos's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Pedro Augusto Silveira was relentless in the 5th minute of the game. If Vitinho Bastos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 8th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Expressinho Tricolor's Vitinho Bastos got a good chance for a goal in the 10th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The supporters of Expressinho Tricolor booed when Barranquinho was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lenílson Fernandes didn't get a good kick on the ball. Acácio Pontes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. Pedro Augusto Silveira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The crowd rose to their feet as Expressinho Tricolor's Vitinho Bastos slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Pedro Augusto Silveira. That made the score 1-0 after 18 minutes of play. Acácio Pontes could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 22nd minute of the match, but Pedro Augusto Silveira made a huge save. After a defensive mix-up in Barranquinho's zone, Vitinho Bastos stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Pedro Augusto Silveira came out of the goal and Vitinho Bastos tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Acácio Pontes might have been able to make a better finish in the 29th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Pedro Augusto Silveira. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Acácio Pontes ran back to his position shaking his head. Rômulo Bueno hit a great freekick 31 minutes into the match. Acácio Pontes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 34th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Lenílson Fernandes hit a great freekick 35 minutes into the match. If Acácio Pontes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 42nd minute, Vitinho Bastos managed to get in a good position for a shot. Expressinho Tricolor's supporters rose to their feet, but Vitinho Bastos was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Pedro Augusto Silveira breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 48 played minutes Barranquinho got a freekick which was hit by Remo Loureiro. Kiko Terra was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 49th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

In the 53rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Barranquinho's goalkeeper Pedro Augusto Silveira, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Pedro Augusto Silveira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Vitinho Bastos in the 55th minute of the match. Ulisses Veloso showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rafa Neves, who was totally free with the ball in the 60th minute. With a left leg Pedro Augusto Silveira saved Barranquinho from getting behind. Pedro Augusto Silveira stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Acácio Pontes's shot from short distance in the 71st minute. Pedro Augusto Silveira showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Acácio Pontes, who was totally free with the ball in the 78th minute. 84 minutes into the match, Barranquinho's goal looked a bit too open when Vitinho Bastos came free, but Pedro Augusto Silveira reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Vitinho Bastos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 86th minute. Pedro Augusto Silveira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Acácio Pontes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pedro Augusto Silveira having to interfere. Acácio Pontes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 93rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A collision led to Barranquinho getting a freekick after 97 minutes play. Reynaldo Linares hit a great ball. Expressinho Tricolor walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
