When Alessandro Alves came up free with the goalie in the 8th minute, the Fidelis fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alessandro Alves couldn't finish the play. In the 10th minute, Valério Pena hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Gil Ramalho took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kiko Terra, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Fidelis's Gil Ramalho played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Acácio Pontes in the 16th minute of play. In the 18th match minute, Fidelis was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Pedrão Souto to maneuver through the defense. Kiko Terra took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 19th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Gil Ramalho. Fidelis's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Joélson Pombal sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Acácio Pontes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Alessandro Alves fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ulisses Veloso having to interfere. Gil Ramalho made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Joélson Pombal in the 36th minute of play. Alessandro Alves recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 37th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Joélson Pombal sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gil Ramalho made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Acácio Pontes in the 48th minute of play. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Acácio Pontes's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Gil Ramalho read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 51st minute of play. Gil Ramalho came out of the goal in the 53rd minute to try and stop a shot by Expressinho Tricolor's Joélson Pombal. But to his dismay, Joélson Pombal quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. In the 56th match minute, Fidelis was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Josué Moreira to maneuver through the defense. Fidelis's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Joélson Pombal was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-5. Ulisses Veloso didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Fabinho Alcântara went, in the 80th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-5 was the resulting score.
