Demolidores FC's Luizão Pires played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joélson Souza in the 16th minute of play. Luizão Pires made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Joélson Souza in the 17th minute of play. Luizão Pires took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Joélson Souza, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After having played for 26 minutes, Teodoro Teles managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Tupiniquins's supporters crossed their fingers, but Teodoro Teles was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 28th minute Teodoro Teles shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luizão Pires saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Demolidores FC's zone, Joélson Souza stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Luizão Pires came out of the goal and Joélson Souza tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 30th minute, Teodoro Teles left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Tupiniquins fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. When Teodoro Teles came up free with the goalie in the 37th minute, the Tupiniquins fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Teodoro Teles couldn't finish the play. After some careless play in the Demolidores FC defense, Joélson Souza kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Luizão Pires. The Demolidores FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Luizão Pires should have stopped the shot. The supporters of Demolidores FC booed when Tupiniquins was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 43 match minutes in a wonderful position. Claudinei Monteiro didn't get a good kick on the ball. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Samuca Pontes stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Osmar Melo's late challenge caught a Demolidores FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Osmar Melo helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Demolidores FC booed when Tupiniquins was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 61 match minutes in a wonderful position. Osmar Melo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Samuca Pontes's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Vivaldo Tinoco read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 67th minute of play. Vivaldo Tinoco didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Murillo Lucas went, in the 69th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-2 was the resulting score. If Joélson Souza had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 76th minute, Demolidores FC's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Teodoro Teles fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Joélson Souza fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luizão Pires having to interfere. If Joélson Souza had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. With his leg Luizão Pires managed to avoid a goal in the 84thth minute, when Tupiniquins's Teodoro Teles fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Joélson Souza in the 86th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Luizão Pires prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When Inácio de Sena fell near the penalty area in the 86th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Demolidores FC's protests and gave Inácio de Sena a yellow card for diving instead. In the 87th match minute, Demolidores FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Inácio de Sena to maneuver through the defense. In the 90th minute Joélson Souza shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luizão Pires saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Joélson Souza in the 91st minute of play forced Demolidores FC's goalkeeper Luizão Pires to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Murillo Lucas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
