After a defensive mix-up in Itacaja SS's zone, Guilherme Pombal stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Donato Mazza came out of the goal and Guilherme Pombal tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Júlio Tavares received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. Donato Mazza tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Reinaldo Pitta sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Delfim Pinheiro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cesinha Santana having to interfere. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Júlio Tavares was the one to do the kick off. When Guilherme Pombal came up free with the goalie in the 52nd minute, the Brusque Futebol Clube fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Guilherme Pombal couldn't finish the play. Guilherme Pombal scored 2-0 in the 59th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Donato Mazza, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 65th minute, Guilherme Pombal left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Brusque Futebol Clube fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-0. The supporters of Itacaja SS booed when Brusque Futebol Clube was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 71 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luizinho de Sena didn't get a good kick on the ball.
