The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Luís Eduardo Cavalcante helped the player get up and apologised. After 6 played minutes Brusque Futebol Clube got a freekick which was hit by Luís Eduardo Cavalcante. 7 minutes into the match, Brusque Futebol Clube's goal looked a bit too open when Rafa Neves came free, but Cesinha Santana reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Barranquinho's Pedro Augusto Silveira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Guilherme Pombal in the 9th minute of play. Júlio Tavares received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 11th minute. Pedro Augusto Silveira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Rogério Peixotos short, quick shot in the 13thth minute got Cesinha Santana to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Pedro Augusto Silveira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Guilherme Pombal in the 15th minute of play. In the 20th minute Júlio Tavares shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pedro Augusto Silveira saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Rogério Peixoto fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cesinha Santana having to interfere. With a little luck, Brusque Futebol Clube's Cesinha Santana got control of the ball when Rogério Peixoto tried to sneak it across the goal line. Cesinha Santana made a fantastic save in the 27th minute, when Lenílson Fernandes sent off a good shot on target. In the 29th minute Rafa Neves shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cesinha Santana saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 35th minute, Guilherme Pombal left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Brusque Futebol Clube fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Manuel de Souza hit a great freekick 38 minutes into the match. If Rafa Neves had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 47th minute, Guilherme Pombal managed to get in a good position for a shot. Brusque Futebol Clube's supporters rose to their feet, but Guilherme Pombal was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Pedro Augusto Silveira breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The wind increased when Júlio Tavares made the kick off in the second half. When Rogério Peixoto came up free with the goalie in the 66th minute, the Barranquinho fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rogério Peixoto couldn't finish the play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Guilherme Pombal got free with Pedro Augusto Silveira in the 70th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Guilherme Pombal fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pedro Augusto Silveira having to interfere. After 76 played minutes, Brusque Futebol Clube's Diguinho Valladares shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Pedro Augusto Silveira came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Brusque Futebol Clube reached it. Lenílson Fernandes hit a great freekick 77 minutes into the match. Pedro Augusto Silveira came out of the goal in the 79th minute to try and stop a shot by Brusque Futebol Clube's Guilherme Pombal. But to his dismay, Guilherme Pombal quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. Luís Eduardo Cavalcante kicked well hit freekick during the 83rd minute of the match. Alfredinho de Mendonça charged in rather forcefully in the 91st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Alfredinho de Mendonça the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The Brusque Futebol Clube supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Brusque Futebol Clube would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
