They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Humberto Barral to strike the kick off in the second half. Olívio Barreto made an important save on a dangerous shot by Arí Félix in the 53rd minute. Olívio Barreto took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Humberto Barral, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 60th minute Humberto Barral shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Olívio Barreto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Arí Félix received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 63rd minute. Olívio Barreto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Humberto Barral recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 65th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Vágner Valladares got free with Olívio Barreto in the 66th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Carlos Eduardo Furtado had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Olívio Barreto showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Humberto Barral in the 75th minute of the match. 77 minutes into the match, são paulo fc's goal looked a bit too open when Humberto Barral came free, but Olívio Barreto reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Olívio Barreto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 84 minutes into the match Arí Félix climbed in front of goal and pressed up 0-4 in the right cross behind a totally surprised Olívio Barreto. Carlos Eduardo Furtado blasted a shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Hamílton Luz having to make a save. Hamílton Luz didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Edmundo Nunes went, in the 95th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-4 was the resulting score. When the match was over Catetumbes F.C. could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than são paulo fc throughout the match.
