The referee ignored AC Torino's protests and gave Doni Nogueira a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Muquicoba booed when AC Torino was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 7 match minutes in a wonderful position. Doni Nogueira didn't get a good kick on the ball. Conrado Baiano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fausto Neves having to interfere.
