Josué Penha fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Breno Ribeiro having to interfere. Ezequiel Guimarães recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 28th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 30th minute Ezequiel Guimarães shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Breno Ribeiro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ezequiel Guimarães fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Breno Ribeiro having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Josué Penha in the 46th minute of play forced Potiguara SS's goalkeeper Breno Ribeiro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Dieguinho Pontes might have been able to make a better finish in the 57th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Eurico Toscano. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out.
