In the 9th minute, Claudinei Viana hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 13 minutes into the game, Michel Messias was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Ajax FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Selvagens F.C the free kick. A collision led to Ajax FC getting a freekick after 14 minutes play. Michel Messias hit a great ball. Ajax FC's Yuri Neto played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Conrado Tasso in the 19th minute of play. If Alfons Melberg had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Oscar Fernandez in the 30th minute of play forced Ajax FC's goalkeeper Yuri Neto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Renatinho Cosme got free with Cristiano Alcântara in the 32nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When Conrado Tasso came up free with the goalie in the 33rd minute, the Selvagens F.C fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Conrado Tasso couldn't finish the play. 35 minutes into the match, Selvagens F.C's goal looked a bit too open when Claudinei Viana came free, but Cristiano Alcântara reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Selvagens F.C getting a freekick after 35 minutes play. Oscar Fernandez hit a great ball. Selvagens F.C's Cristiano Alcântara played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jailson Couto in the 40th minute of play. In the 41st minute, Zé Augusto Messias reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Cristiano Alcântara. The goal made the score 2-0. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Claudinei Viana stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Osvaldo Abreu kicked well hit freekick during the 52nd minute of the match. Ajax FC's Claudinei Viana got a good chance for a goal in the 54th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Alfons Melbergs short, quick shot in the 59thth minute got Yuri Neto to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Yuri Neto showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Conrado Tasso, who was totally free with the ball in the 61st minute. Cristiano Alcântara made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Claudinei Viana in the 62nd minute of play. Cristiano Alcântara showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jailson Couto in the 64th minute of the match. With a little luck, Ajax FC's Yuri Neto got control of the ball when Conrado Tasso tried to sneak it across the goal line. An unexpected shot in the 66th minute by Conrado Tasso got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. In the 88th minute of the match Clóvis Cerezo shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Cristiano Alcântara showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Cristiano Alcântara showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jailson Couto, who was totally free with the ball in the 89th minute. After 91 minutes of play, Ajax FC's Jailson Couto made it 3-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Cristiano Alcântara was left in no man's land by his defense there! The home crowd let out a huge roar when the referee blew for the end of the game. Ajax FC were victorious despite being under pressure from Selvagens F.C for much of the match.
