The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The audience thought a goal was coming when Christiano Cardozo got free with Frank Camargo in the 10th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. A collision led to Mattosinhos getting a freekick after 10 minutes play. Christiano Salles hit a great ball. Christiano Cardozo in the 11thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Frank Camargo, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Zé Carlos Paiva during the 16th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 17th minute, Zé Carlos Paiva hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Tarcisio Barral had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Christiano Cardozo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 23rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Christiano Cardozo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Frank Camargo having to interfere. Tarcisio Barral's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Décio Guedes read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 32nd minute of play. Christiano Cardozo who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 38thth minute tested the skills of Frank Camargo when he managed to save the team from getting behind. An unexpectedly hard shot by Abel Pontes in the 40th minute of play forced Mattosinhos's goalkeeper Frank Camargo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Tarcisio Barral to make the kick off. If Christiano Cardozo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 51st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 58 minutes, Jailson Reis managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Mattosinhos's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jailson Reis was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Frank Camargo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Abel Pontes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Frank Camargo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Abel Pontes in the 68th minute of the match. Frank Camargo stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Christiano Cardozo's shot from short distance in the 69th minute. When Christiano Salles fell near the penalty area in the 70th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Mattosinhos's protests and gave Christiano Salles a yellow card for diving instead. Christiano Salles hit a great freekick 70 minutes into the match. In the 72nd minute, Doni Prata left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The ✦ Mr. Anonymous Team ✦ fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. After having played for 76 minutes, Abel Pontes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. ✦ Mr. Anonymous Team ✦'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Abel Pontes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Frank Camargo showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Abel Pontes spun around in front of the goal 81 minutes in the game, and got away a shot that, to his disappointment, went to the left of Mattosinhos's goal. Christiano Cardozo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Frank Camargo read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 83rd minute of play. Luizão Loyola kicked well hit freekick during the 86th minute of the match. Christiano Cardozo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 95th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.
