A collision led to Tabajara getting a freekick after 5 minutes play. Geovânio Bastos hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, Tabajara's Inácio Porto got a free kick in the 6th minute. In the 11th minute, Luís Guilherme da Silveira hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 15 minutes into the match, Tabajara's goal looked a bit too open when Válter Montenegro came free, but Rafa Paes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Caririmirim AD's Paulo Félix played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by João Gabriel in the 16th minute of play. Paulo Félix showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from João Gabriel, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. With 19 minutes on the clock, Cauan Fontes commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. In the 18th minute, one of Caririmirim AD:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Caririmirim AD. In the 21st minute, Geovânio Bastos ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Paulo Félix was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Paulo Félix stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of João Gabriel's shot from short distance in the 27th minute. After 30 played minutes Tabajara got a freekick which was hit by Inácio Porto. 45 minutes into the match, Caririmirim AD's Paulão Maranhense sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Rafa Paes narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Válter Montenegro was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 46th minute. Caririmirim AD's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Elói Capixaba made a kick off. Paulão Maranhense received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 51st minute. Rafa Paes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Válter Montenegro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After 55 played minutes Caririmirim AD got a freekick which was hit by Gilson de Lima. Zeca Matos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 57th minute. Paulo Félix tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Paulo Félix showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Inácio Porto in the 62nd minute of the match. Válter Montenegro's late challenge caught a Tabajara's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Válter Montenegro helped the player get up and apologised. Válter Montenegro hit a great freekick 63 minutes into the match. After 74 minutes, Inácio Porto mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Tabajara and the Caririmirim AD players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 78th minute, Paulão Maranhense got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Caririmirim AD's zone, João Gabriel stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Paulo Félix came out of the goal and João Gabriel tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Gilson de Lima during the 84th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 84 played minutes Caririmirim AD got a freekick which was hit by Gilson de Lima. A hard shot by Geovânio Bastos from long distance, 86 minutes into the match, got Paulo Félix's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. When Válter Montenegro came up free with the goalie in the 88th minute, the Caririmirim AD fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Válter Montenegro couldn't finish the play. Válter Montenegro struck a weak shot in the 90th minute. Rafa Paes didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Caririmirim AD. With a little luck, Caririmirim AD's Paulo Félix got control of the ball when Luís Guilherme da Silveira tried to sneak it across the goal line. Nilmar Nascimento hit a great freekick 96 minutes into the match. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Caririmirim AD players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
