The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Nico da Fonseca fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 7th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ruy Cardoso having to interfere. Cipriano de Almeida's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ruy Cardoso read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 8th minute of play. In the 9thth minute of the game Nico da Fonseca who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Santoryu FC's Ruy Cardoso was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Carlos Fernando Camargo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ruy Cardoso having to interfere. If Nico da Fonseca had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Carlos Fernando Camargo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 14th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Santoryu FC's zone, Nico da Fonseca stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ruy Cardoso came out of the goal and Nico da Fonseca tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Nico da Fonseca in the 22nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ruy Cardoso saved Santoryu FC from getting behind. In the 24th minute, Carlos Fernando Camargo left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Queimabota FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Régis Negri sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Carlos Fernando Camargo might have been able to make a better finish in the 46th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ruy Cardoso. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Carlos Fernando Camargo ran back to his position shaking his head. The Santoryu FC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Queimabota FC were winning 0-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Régis Negri stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd match minute, Queimabota FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ricardinho Costa to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, Queimabota FC's Christiano Machado got a free kick in the 55th minute. Régis Negri received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. Dito de Amaral tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Nico da Fonseca sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Queimabota FC's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
