The goalkeeper, Paulo Félix, was totally fooled by Santoryu FC's Pedro Paulo Moraes, who 65 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. Jefferson Amaral recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 70th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Ruy Cardoso showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Paulão Maranhense, who was totally free with the ball in the 74th minute. When Nilmar Nascimento fell near the penalty area in the 75th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Caririmirim AD's protests and gave Nilmar Nascimento a yellow card for diving instead. After 75 played minutes Caririmirim AD got a freekick which was hit by Nilmar Nascimento. Paulão Maranhense received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 78th minute. Ruy Cardoso tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Régis Negri in the 94th minute of play forced Caririmirim AD's goalkeeper Paulo Félix to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 95th minute Paulão Maranhense shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ruy Cardoso saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 100 minutes into the match, Caririmirim AD's goalkeeper Paulo Félix had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ramiro Prestes. Despite being the better team, Caririmirim AD failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
