Naldo Simãos short, quick shot in the 7thth minute got Francisco da Silva to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Carlos Seco received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 10th minute. Robinho Amaral tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 11th minute Carlos Seco shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Robinho Amaral saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 17 minutes into the match, Betinho Camargo had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Robinho Amaral. Tambaqui FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Betinho Camargo was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. After 22 played minutes, Calates Futebol Clube's Leonardo Santos shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Robinho Amaral came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Calates Futebol Clube reached it. Robinho Amaral took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Carlos Seco, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Tambaqui FC getting a freekick after 26 minutes play. Marcel Brasil hit a great ball. Tambaqui FC's Renato Perez got a good chance for a goal in the 30th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Renato Perez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Naldo Simão's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Francisco da Silva read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 42nd minute of play. 43 minutes into the match, Naldo Simão notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of Calates Futebol Clube's Francisco da Silva. Francisco da Silva was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Calates Futebol Clube booed when Tambaqui FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 57 match minutes in a wonderful position. Calates Futebol Clube's Francisco da Silva played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Naldo Simão in the 60th minute of play. Naldo Simão sent away a hard shot on goal in the 67th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Renato Perez fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Francisco da Silva having to interfere. If Renato Perez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 80th minute of the game, Marcel Brasil landed unfortunately after trying to head the ball, and pulled a muscle in the back, so badly that he had to leave the field. The supporters of Tambaqui FC booed when Calates Futebol Clube was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 81 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luiz Fábio Melo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Naldo Simão received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 84th minute. Francisco da Silva tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Tambaqui FC's Cafu Brodel got a good chance for a goal in the 85th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 87th minute, Cafu Brodel hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Carlos Seco had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Naldo Simão in the 97th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Francisco da Silva prevented the ball from getting in the gole.
