Spectators: 7283 (Terracing: 5464, Seating: 1675, VIP seats: 144) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Rui Chaves made the kick off which started today's match. If Albertinho Terra had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 5th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ulysses Correia took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rui Chaves, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 8 minutes into the match, Gaucho's goal looked a bit too open when Rui Chaves came free, but Ulysses Correia reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 12th minute Rui Chaves shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ulysses Correia saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 13 minutes into the match, Caraiuva's goalkeeper Gerson Valadares had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Acácio Hoffmann. In the 16thth minute of the game Dida Vander who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Caraiuva's Gerson Valadares was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Gerson Valadares showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dida Vander, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. 20 minutes into the match, Rui Chaves notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Gaucho's Ulysses Correia. Ulysses Correia was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Ulysses Correia came out of the goal in the 27th minute to try and stop a shot by Caraiuva's André Duarte. But to his dismay, André Duarte quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. Giovanni Pinheiro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Gerson Valadares tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The Caraiuva fans' excitement grew in the 37th match minute when Caraiuva's Rui Chaves looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-4 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. After some fancy dribbling in the 41st minute, Rui Chaves managed to get in a good position for a shot. Caraiuva's supporters rose to their feet, but Rui Chaves was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ulysses Correia breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Ulysses Correia showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Albertinho Terra in the 42nd minute of the match. In the 43rd minute, one of Caraiuva:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Caraiuva. Gerson Valadares went to the wrong direction when Agostinho Coelho was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. In the 47th minute Rui Chaves shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ulysses Correia saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-4 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Pedro Augusto Moreira during the 51st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 51 played minutes Gaucho got a freekick which was hit by Pedro Augusto Moreira. When André Duarte fell near the penalty area in the 52nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Caraiuva's protests and gave André Duarte a yellow card for diving instead. In the 53rdth minute of the game Acácio Hoffmann who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Caraiuva's Gerson Valadares was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Rui Chaves blasted a shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Ulysses Correia having to make a save. Albertinho Terra received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 63rd minute. Ulysses Correia tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Albertinho Terra got free with Ulysses Correia in the 65th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Dida Vander struck a weak shot in the 68th minute. Gerson Valadares didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Gaucho. In the 69th minute, Giovanni Pinheiro had to leave the field with a concussion. André Duarte got his second yellow card in the match during the 69th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. Gaucho's Acácio Hoffmann got a good chance for a goal in the 71st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 75th minute the ball was on its way in behind Gaucho's goalkeeper Ulysses Correia, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Albertinho Terra sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After a rather tough play, Gaucho's Luís Amaral got a free kick in the 77th minute. Mário Brasil, 79 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Albertinho Terra received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 81st minute. Ulysses Correia tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Elder Figueiredo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 82nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Pedro Augusto Moreira kicked well hit freekick during the 83rd minute of the match. 85 minutes into the match, Albertinho Terra notched a goal, 1-5, to the right of Gaucho's Ulysses Correia. Ulysses Correia was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. When Albertinho Terra came up free with the goalie in the 92nd minute, the Caraiuva fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Albertinho Terra couldn't finish the play. Fausto Queiroz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. If Elder Figueiredo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Gaucho fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Caraiuva were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
