Vivaldo Montenegro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rui Chaves, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Luís Paulo Diniz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 4th minute. Gerson Valadares tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Albertinho Terra got free with Vivaldo Montenegro in the 6th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The supporters of Caraiuva booed when Mackenzie College FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 9 match minutes in a wonderful position. Zézinho Corrêa didn't get a good kick on the ball. 10 minutes into the match, Caraiuva's Mário Brasil broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. In the 12th minute there was a penalty for Caraiuva. Mário Brasil stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Vivaldo Montenegro. 1-0. Mackenzie College FC's Vivaldo Montenegro proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 18th minute of the match, managed to save Mackenzie College FC from getting a goal against them. Mackenzie College FC's Luís Paulo Diniz got a good chance for a goal in the 23rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 26 minutes into the match, Mackenzie College FC's goalkeeper Vivaldo Montenegro had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Albertinho Terra. After having played for 28 minutes, Rui Chaves managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Caraiuva's supporters crossed their fingers, but Rui Chaves was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Rui Chaves recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 34th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Mackenzie College FC's zone, Albertinho Terra stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Vivaldo Montenegro came out of the goal and Albertinho Terra tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 42nd minute Rui Chaves shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vivaldo Montenegro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Albertinho Terra sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Mackenzie College FC's Dinei Chaves got a good chance for a goal in the 46th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Dinei Chaves to strike the kick off in the second half. Gerson Valadares showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dinei Chaves in the 56th minute of the match. Caraiuva's Gerson Valadares played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dinei Chaves in the 58th minute of play. If Albertinho Terra had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Albertinho Terra recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 68th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 70 minutes into the match, Caraiuva's Rui Chaves sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Vivaldo Montenegro narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Mackenzie College FC's Renan Dracena got a free kick in the 72nd minute. After 77 minutes Mackenzie College FC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Mário Brasil who took care of the corner kick. Mário Brasil made a great header on Caraiuva's corner, it was just that Mackenzie College FC's Vivaldo Montenegro managed to reach the ball for a save. Luís Paulo Diniz kicked well hit freekick during the 78th minute of the match. Vivaldo Montenegro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mário Brasil in the 78th minute of the match. A collision led to Mackenzie College FC getting a freekick after 79 minutes play. Paulo José Bezerra hit a great ball. Mackenzie College FC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
