After some fancy dribbling in the 6th minute, Zé Augusto Lara managed to get in a good position for a shot. Canutão Borges FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Zé Augusto Lara was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Luís Gustavo Marquez breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 11 played minutes Canutão Borges FC got a freekick which was hit by Waldemar Salles. 14 minutes into the game, Canutão Borges FC's Zé Augusto Lara nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Luís Gustavo Marquez made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Eurico Arce sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Rubinho da Fonseca hit a great freekick 23 minutes into the match. Edmílson de Medeiros came out of the goal and Valdemar Donato tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Raimundo Galvão recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 46th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 50 minutes had been played when some careless play by ATHLETIC VALLADOLID MZB's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Emanuel Velasco was slow to take the kick. During this time Canutão Borges FC's players had a chance to rest. Emanuel Velasco made a great header on Canutão Borges FC's corner, it was just that ATHLETIC VALLADOLID MZB's Luís Gustavo Marquez managed to reach the ball for a save. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Eurico Arce was the one to do the kick off. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Artur Senna during the 57th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The crowd rose to their feet as Raimundo Galvão kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Luís Gustavo Marquez. That made the score 0-2 in the 72 minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 85th minute, Zé Augusto Lara managed to get in a good position for a shot. The audience thought a goal was coming when Emanuel Velasco got free with Luís Gustavo Marquez in the 91st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Eurico Arce received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 96th minute. Edmílson de Medeiros tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eurico Arce in the 98th minute of play forced Canutão Borges FC's goalkeeper Edmílson de Medeiros to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The Canutão Borges FC players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
