Page's Manfredo Simões got a good chance for a goal in the 10th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Page's Cristóvão Zonta got a free kick in the 13th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dedé Maia in the 16th minute of play forced Page's goalkeeper Alexsandro Perez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Olívio Falcão showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Egídio Bastos in the 17th minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Egídio Bastos got free with Olívio Falcão in the 20th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The crowd rose to their feet as Cristóvão Zonta kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Olívio Falcão. That made the score 1-0 in the 24 minute of play. The referee felt a red card was in order, 28 minutes into the game, when Armandinho Pirani put in a rough tackle. In a very dangerous position, a player in Page fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 27th minute. Penalty! In the 30th minute there was a penalty for Massuim AD. João Paulo Linhares stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Alexsandro Perez. 1-1. With a little luck, Massuim AD's Olívio Falcão got control of the ball when Dagoberto Furlan tried to sneak it across the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 35th minute, Manfredo Simões managed to get in a good position for a shot. Page's supporters rose to their feet, but Manfredo Simões was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Olívio Falcão breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Dagoberto Furlan might have been able to make a better finish in the 40th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Olívio Falcão. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Dagoberto Furlan ran back to his position shaking his head. After having played for 47 minutes, Dagoberto Furlan managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Page's supporters crossed their fingers, but Dagoberto Furlan was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Dedé Maia was the one to do the kick off. After a rather tough play, Massuim AD's Marco Cardozo got a free kick in the 55th minute. A collision led to Massuim AD getting a freekick after 58 minutes play. Cléberson Pombal hit a great ball. Dagoberto Furlan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Manfredo Simões had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Page's Alexsandro Perez proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 68th minute of the match, managed to save Page from getting a goal against them. 70 minutes into the match, Page's Manfredo Simões sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Olívio Falcão narrowly saved just below the crossbar. A collision led to Massuim AD getting a freekick after 71 minutes play. João Paulo Linhares hit a great ball. Alexsandro Perez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dedé Maia in the 77th minute of the match. Erivaldo Mesquita hit a great freekick 79 minutes into the match. 81 minutes into the match, Dagoberto Furlan had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Olívio Falcão. Massuim AD's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Dagoberto Furlan was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. Alexsandro Perez was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Dedé Maia showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-2 in the 90 minute of play. Page were unable to convert their possession into goals, allowing Massuim AD to leave the ground with a draw.
