Anísio Campidelis kicked well hit freekick during the 4th minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Anísio Campidelis in the 8th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Caio Cunha saved Palmitinhos FC from getting behind. Zé Augusto Brito lost his temper 10 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. 9 minutes into the game, one of Palmitinhos FC:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. 16 minutes into the match, Palmitinhos FC's goal looked a bit too open when Valdir Sabóia came free, but Caio Cunha reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Iguarassu EC getting a freekick after 17 minutes play. Virgílio Negri hit a great ball. 18 minutes into the match, Kiko Correia had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Rui Cavalcante. Iguarassu EC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Kiko Correia was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. Chicão Passos's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Rui Cavalcante read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 32nd minute of play. After 33 played minutes Palmitinhos FC got a freekick which was hit by Chicão Passos. In the 35th minute, Oscar Antunes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some fancy dribbling in the 38th minute, Álvaro Diniz managed to get in a good position for a shot. Palmitinhos FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Álvaro Diniz was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rui Cavalcante breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Oscar Antunes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Álvaro Diniz came free in the 43rd minute and tried to tip the ball over Rui Cavalcante, but to the joy of Iguarassu EC's supporters the ball went over. Palmitinhos FC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Chicão Passos in the 47th minute. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

If Kiko Correia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Chicão Passos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. Rui Cavalcante tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 63rd minute, Oscar Antunes ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Rui Cavalcante was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. After having played for 72 minutes, Kiko Correia managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Palmitinhos FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Kiko Correia was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Kiko Correia came up free with the goalie in the 74th minute, the Palmitinhos FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Kiko Correia couldn't finish the play. With a little luck, Palmitinhos FC's Caio Cunha got control of the ball when Valdir Sabóia tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Kiko Correia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Palmitinhos FC booed when Iguarassu EC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 80 match minutes in a wonderful position. Isaltino Tande didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 82 minutes, Raimundo Tinoco managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Palmitinhos FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Raimundo Tinoco was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Rui Cavalcante took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Chicão Passos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Kiko Correia fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rui Cavalcante having to interfere. If Chicão Passos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 90th minute, Kiko Correia got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Chicão Passos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rui Cavalcante having to interfere. Kiko Correia sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Palmitinhos FC were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
