Valdemar Donato could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 10th minute of the match, but Caio Cunha made a huge save. 16 minutes into the game, Palmitinhos FC's Chicão Passos nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Luís Gustavo Marquez made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. In the 20th minute, Chicão Passos got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in ATHLETIC VALLADOLID MZB's zone, Zé Augusto Brito stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Luís Gustavo Marquez came out of the goal and Zé Augusto Brito tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Célio Fontes during the 22nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, ATHLETIC VALLADOLID MZB's Célio Fontes got a free kick in the 23rd minute. Luís Gustavo Marquez stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Chicão Passos's shot from short distance in the 34th minute. In the 37th minute Chicão Passos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luís Gustavo Marquez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Kiko Correia sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 40th minute, Cido Almeida hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Chicão Passos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Luís Gustavo Marquez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Chicão Passos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Eurico Arce to make the kick off. After 52 minutes, Zé Augusto Brito mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Palmitinhos FC and the ATHLETIC VALLADOLID MZB players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of ATHLETIC VALLADOLID MZB booed when Palmitinhos FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Zé Augusto Brito didn't get a good kick on the ball. 54 minutes into the match, Palmitinhos FC's goal looked a bit too open when Valdemar Donato came free, but Caio Cunha reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Caio Cunha came out of the goal in the 57th minute to try and stop a shot by ATHLETIC VALLADOLID MZB's Duda Peres. But to his dismay, Duda Peres quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. Chicão Passos might have been able to make a better finish in the 69th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Luís Gustavo Marquez. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Chicão Passos ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 71stth minute of the game Chicão Passos who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but ATHLETIC VALLADOLID MZB's Luís Gustavo Marquez was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 72 minutes into the game, Oscar Antunes was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Palmitinhos FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave ATHLETIC VALLADOLID MZB the free kick. After 77 minutes of play ATHLETIC VALLADOLID MZB's Célio Fontes was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. If Chicão Passos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Chicão Passos struck a weak shot in the 87th minute. Luís Gustavo Marquez didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Palmitinhos FC. If Valdemar Donato had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Valdemar Donato in the 95th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Caio Cunha saved Palmitinhos FC from getting behind. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Palmitinhos FC players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
