If Marcus de Sena had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Arí Cruz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eliézer Pontes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The Arcadia fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. In the 20th minute, Marcus de Sena ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Arí Cruz was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. After having played for 23 minutes, Marcus de Sena managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Arcadia's supporters crossed their fingers, but Marcus de Sena was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Rubens Marques charged in rather forcefully in the 24th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Rubens Marques the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. 28 minutes into the game, Arcadia's João Schmidt nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Arí Cruz made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-3. 30 minutes into the match, Bento Gonçalves Futebol's goal looked a bit too open when João Schmidt came free, but Arí Cruz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Arí Cruz came out of the goal in the 33rd minute to try and stop a shot by Arcadia's Eliézer Pontes. But to his dismay, Eliézer Pontes quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-4. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marcus de Sena in the 36th minute of play forced Bento Gonçalves Futebol's goalkeeper Arí Cruz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Arcadia's João Schmidt got a good chance for a goal in the 37th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. João Schmidt sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Arí Cruz didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from João Schmidt went, in the 47th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-5 was the resulting score. The Bento Gonçalves Futebol players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Arcadia were winning 0-5.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Rubens Marques stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 54th minute, Eliézer Pontes got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 56th minute, João Schmidt managed to get in a good position for a shot. Arcadia's supporters rose to their feet, but João Schmidt was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Arí Cruz breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. With an all-out effort, Arcadia's Arí Cruz threw himself towards the right post 59 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from João Schmidt, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. João Schmidt fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Arí Cruz having to interfere. When the final whistle sounded Arcadia left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Bento Gonçalves Futebol.
