With an all-out effort, Couve Flor FC's Oscar Ramos threw himself towards the right post 39 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Ismael Donato, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ismael Donato in the 47th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Oscar Ramos saved S.E. Palmeiras from getting behind. 48 minutes into the match, Alfredo Botelho dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Oscar Ramos, 3-0. Af the end of the first half the score was 3-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Gláuber de Toledo to make the kick off. In the 57th match minute, S.E. Palmeiras was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ronaldinho Ferreira to maneuver through the defense. Oscar Ramos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alfredo Botelho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Through an outstanding action, after 97 minutes, André Luís Lara successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. For all the effort they put into the match, the S.E. Palmeiras players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense.
