André Luís Lara dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. 18 minutes into the match, Couve Flor FC's goal looked a bit too open when Gonçalo Vasconcelos came free, but André Luís Lara reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 20th match minute, Couve Flor FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dida Andrade to maneuver through the defense. André Luís Lara made a fantastic save in the 21st minute, when Ernani Berger sent off a good shot on target. 22 minutes into the match, Couve Flor FC's goal looked a bit too open when Gonçalo Vasconcelos came free, but André Luís Lara reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Perivaldo de Queiroz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ismael Donato, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. CORMERCIAL FC's Perivaldo de Queiroz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alfredo Botelho in the 25th minute of play. 25 minutes into the game, Alfredo Botelho cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Perivaldo de Queiroz was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After a defensive mix-up in Couve Flor FC's zone, Ernani Berger stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. André Luís Lara came out of the goal and Ernani Berger tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ernani Berger blasted a shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without André Luís Lara having to make a save. André Luís Lara took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gonçalo Vasconcelos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 47 played minutes Couve Flor FC got a freekick which was hit by Dida Andrade. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Gonçalo Vasconcelos to make the kick off. If Gonçalo Vasconcelos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Zé Roberto Recife's late challenge caught a CORMERCIAL FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Zé Roberto Recife helped the player get up and apologised. After 54 played minutes Couve Flor FC got a freekick which was hit by Zé Roberto Recife. In the 55th minute Gonçalo Vasconcelos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but André Luís Lara saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of CORMERCIAL FC booed when Couve Flor FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 57 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ismael Donato didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 60th minute, Ernani Berger managed to get in a good position for a shot. CORMERCIAL FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Ernani Berger was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gonçalo Vasconcelos couldn't finish the play. Despite being the better team, CORMERCIAL FC failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
