The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 6 minutes into the match, Thiago de Moraes had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of João Pedro Fonseca. Uz Federais's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Thiago de Moraes was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. Thiago de Moraes could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 10th minute of the match, but João Pedro Fonseca made a huge save. After 11 played minutes Uz Federais got a freekick which was hit by Erivaldo Galvão. In the 13th match minute, DC UNITED FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Benê Braga to maneuver through the defense. 16 minutes into the match, Uz Federais's goal looked a bit too open when Cipriano Valle came free, but João Pedro Fonseca reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience was convinced that Cipriano Valle's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but João Pedro Fonseca was relentless in the 17th minute of the game. Cipriano Valle succeeded in the game's 19th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 2-0. Reinaldo Dracena showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zé Paulo Paraibano, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. Cipriano Valle received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. João Pedro Fonseca tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Uz Federais's João Pedro Fonseca played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cipriano Valle in the 29th minute of play. Uz Federais's Lauro Vianna got a good chance for a goal in the 35th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 2-1 became the score in the 37th minute when Lauro Vianna elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 44th minute, Lauro Vianna managed to get in a good position for a shot. Uz Federais's supporters rose to their feet, but Lauro Vianna was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Reinaldo Dracena breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zé Paulo Paraibano in the 46th minute of play forced DC UNITED FC's goalkeeper Reinaldo Dracena to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 48 played minutes DC UNITED FC got a freekick which was hit by Benê Braga.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Cipriano Valle was the one to do the kick off. A nice corner shot did that Ramiro Ribeiro got away a dangerous shot. Despite this João Pedro Fonseca quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. After some careless play in the Uz Federais defense, Thiago de Moraes kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of João Pedro Fonseca. The Uz Federais fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that João Pedro Fonseca should have stopped the shot. Cesinha Pena recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 60th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Cesinha Pena hit a great freekick 63 minutes into the match. Reinaldo Dracena was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 63rd minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Claudinho Cearense. Uz Federais's Lauro Vianna was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 69th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. A collision led to Uz Federais getting a freekick after 72 minutes play. Tomás Carvalho hit a great ball. Cipriano Valle fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without João Pedro Fonseca having to interfere. João Pedro Fonseca made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Thiago de Moraes in the 76th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Thiago de Moraes in the 90th minute of play forced Uz Federais's goalkeeper João Pedro Fonseca to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When DC UNITED FC's Thiago de Moraes in the 90th minute got a chance for a shot 90th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie.
