Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dênis Machado made the kick off and thus started the match. With a little luck, Everest FC's Pedrão Cardozo got control of the ball when Fernandinho Loureiro tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 6 played minutes Matuapira SS got a freekick which was hit by Sílvio Lopes. If Dênis Machado had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 7th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Carlos Eduardo Trancoso made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ricardo Barreto in the 9th minute of play. In the 10th match minute, Matuapira SS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Germano Custódio to maneuver through the defense. Sílvio Lopes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 21st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 22 minutes, Horácio da Rocha mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Everest FC and the Matuapira SS players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Everest FC getting a freekick after 22 minutes play. Horácio da Rocha hit a great ball. In the 27th minute Sílvio Lopes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pedrão Cardozo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Matuapira SS's zone, Dênis Machado stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Carlos Eduardo Trancoso came out of the goal and Dênis Machado tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Dida Madureira fell near the penalty area in the 29th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Matuapira SS's protests and gave Dida Madureira a yellow card for diving instead. Ricardo Barreto fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Carlos Eduardo Trancoso having to interfere. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Sílvio Lopes to make the kick off. When Ricardo Barreto came up free with the goalie in the 53rd minute, the Everest FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ricardo Barreto couldn't finish the play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Dênis Machado in the 59th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Carlos Eduardo Trancoso prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Sílvio Lopes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pedrão Cardozo having to interfere. Pedrão Cardozo didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Adrianinho Alcântara went, in the 72nd minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. Sílvio Lopes scored 3-0 in the 76th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Pedrão Cardozo, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Dida Madureira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 86th minute Sílvio Lopes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pedrão Cardozo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dênis Machado in the 89th minute of play forced Matuapira SS's goalkeeper Carlos Eduardo Trancoso to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 3-1 became the score in the 90th minute when Dênis Machado elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. After having played for 98 minutes, Sílvio Lopes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Matuapira SS's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sílvio Lopes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.
