The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After a rather tough play, S.E. Lsiim's Cipriano Paraibano got a free kick in the 2nd minute. But to his dismay, Gonçalo Souto quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Edinho Quadros in the 16th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Marco Velasco prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 24th minute, Edinho Quadros got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Marco Velasco stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Edinho Quadros's shot from short distance in the 27th minute. Cipriano Paraibano took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 30th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Marco Velasco. Sorocaba's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Edinho Quadros received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Marco Velasco tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 47th minute, Gonçalo Souto got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After the first half S.E. Lsiim were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Edinho Quadros made the kick off in the second half. Gonçalo Souto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 52nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Edinho Quadros couldn't finish the play. 58 minutes into the game, Carlos Eduardo Quintal was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player.
