Spectators: 7227 (Terracing: 5422, Seating: 1662, VIP seats: 143) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Dida Araújo kicked off to start the match. Roberto Silva recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 3rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After some careless play in the Gian F.C. defense, Roberto Silva kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Wágner Secco. The Gian F.C. fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Wágner Secco should have stopped the shot. The Sorocaba fans' excitement grew in the 8th match minute when Sorocaba's Dida Araújo looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Dida Araújo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Carlos Alberto Capixaba hit a great freekick 14 minutes into the match. Carlos Eduardo Quintal kicked well hit freekick during the 15th minute of the match. José Paraíba received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. Marco Velasco tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 22nd minute, Dida Araújo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Carlos Alberto Capixaba kicked well hit freekick during the 23rd minute of the match. Wágner Secco showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dida Araújo, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. 25 minutes into the match, Gian F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Roberto Silva came free, but Wágner Secco reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Wágner Secco showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dida Araújo, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. Wágner Secco made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-3. Wágner Secco showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dida Araújo, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. A collision led to Gian F.C. getting a freekick after 49 minutes play. José Paraíba hit a great ball. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-3.

After a defensive mix-up in Gian F.C.'s zone, Roberto Silva stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Wágner Secco came out of the goal and Roberto Silva tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Raimundo Martins might have been able to make a better finish in the 57th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Marco Velasco. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Raimundo Martins ran back to his position shaking his head. Hortêncio Sarmento hit a great freekick 61 minutes into the match. Marco Velasco made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Raimundo Martins in the 62nd minute of play. Sorocaba's Marco Velasco played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Raimundo Martins in the 64th minute of play. 67 minutes into the match, Gian F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Dida Araújo came free, but Wágner Secco reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Sorocaba booed when Gian F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 73 match minutes in a wonderful position. Carlos Alberto Capixaba didn't get a good kick on the ball. Wágner Secco was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 74th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Isaltino Lago. Roberto Silva was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 76th minute. Sorocaba's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Dida Araújo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 80th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Wágner Secco showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dida Araújo in the 82nd minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dida Araújo in the 83rd minute of play forced Gian F.C.'s goalkeeper Wágner Secco to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Wágner Secco came out of the goal in the 83rd minute to try and stop a shot by Sorocaba's Dida Araújo. But to his dismay, Dida Araújo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-4. An unexpected shot in the 94th minute by Dida Araújo got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. 98 minutes into the match, Sorocaba's goal looked a bit too open when Raimundo Martins came free, but Marco Velasco reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Sorocaba's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
