With an all-out effort, MENGAO 99's Marco Velasco threw himself towards the right post 18 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Douglas Maia, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. 20 minutes into the match, MENGAO 99's goal looked a bit too open when Luís Gustavo Fantini came free, but Isidoro Clemencin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the match clock showed 22 minutes, the score became 2-0 when Jonas Favoretto sped through Sorocaba's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Marco Velasco. In the 28th minute Douglas Maia shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marco Velasco saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A hard shot 29 in the game by Jonas Favoretto from a close distance when the talented Marco Velasco managed to make a qualified save. Sorocaba's players were relieved. Sorocaba's Marco Velasco played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Douglas Maia in the 31st minute of play. Maicon de Queirós hit a great freekick 32 minutes into the match. Marco Velasco showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Douglas Maia, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. Marco Velasco made an important save on a dangerous shot by Jonas Favoretto in the 39th minute. The supporters of MENGAO 99 booed when Sorocaba was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 43 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luís Gustavo Fantini didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jonas Favoretto could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 47th minute of the match, but Marco Velasco made a huge save.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Douglas Maia stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. When Douglas Maia came up free with the goalie in the 51st minute, the MENGAO 99 fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Douglas Maia couldn't finish the play. In the 52nd minute Jonas Favoretto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marco Velasco saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 58th minute of the match Perivaldo Tróia shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Marco Velasco showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After a rather tough play, Sorocaba's Narciso Bueno got a free kick in the 64th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jonas Favoretto in the 73rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Marco Velasco prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 74 minutes into the match, Jonas Favoretto had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Marco Velasco. Sorocaba's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Jonas Favoretto was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-0. After some careless play in the Sorocaba defense, Jonas Favoretto kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Marco Velasco. The Sorocaba fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Marco Velasco should have stopped the shot. In the 95th minute, Douglas Maia ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Marco Velasco was frozen by the shot and now it was 6-0. There was no doubt that MENGAO 99 were the better team. MENGAO 99's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
