Acácio da Silva was extremely unlucky when he, in the 10th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Moisés Netto showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Pedrão Pontes in the 14th minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Eriberto Vieira in the 18th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Moisés Netto saved Canela de Vidro from getting behind. When Edvaldo de Brito fell near the penalty area in the 25th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Canela de Vidro's protests and gave Edvaldo de Brito a yellow card for diving instead. Edvaldo de Brito hit a great freekick 25 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, Canela de Vidro's Chico Rodrigues got a free kick in the 35th minute. Moisés Netto showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eriberto Vieira in the 40th minute of the match. After 41 minutes, Breno Silveira mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Canela de Vidro and the Flamengo CRF players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a defensive mix-up in Canela de Vidro's zone, Nilton Rosado stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Moisés Netto came out of the goal and Nilton Rosado tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Pedrão Pontes in the 45th minute of play forced Canela de Vidro's goalkeeper Moisés Netto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The wind increased when Pedrão Pontes made the kick off in the second half. In the 57th minute, Eriberto Vieira left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Flamengo CRF fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. After some fancy dribbling in the 61st minute, Pedrão Pontes managed to get in a good position for a shot. Flamengo CRF's supporters rose to their feet, but Pedrão Pontes was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Moisés Netto breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The audience thought a goal was coming when Eriberto Vieira got free with Moisés Netto in the 62nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Canela de Vidro's Acácio da Silva got a good chance for a goal in the 67th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 69 minutes into the match, Flamengo CRF's goal looked a bit too open when Waldemar Rosa came free, but Jaime Vaz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 74 played minutes Flamengo CRF got a freekick which was hit by Nilton Rosado. 81 minutes into the game, Gilmar Pires was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Canela de Vidro's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Flamengo CRF the free kick. After 81 played minutes Canela de Vidro got a freekick which was hit by Gilmar Pires. Waldemar Rosa might have been able to make a better finish in the 87th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jaime Vaz. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Waldemar Rosa ran back to his position shaking his head. 94 minutes into the match, Flamengo CRF's Eriberto Vieira sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Moisés Netto narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The Flamengo CRF players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
