With a little luck, Maciota FC's Romário Fantini got control of the ball when José Koehler tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 26 played minutes, Maciota FC's Hortêncio da Silveira shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Cleiton Dracena came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Maciota FC reached it. Gonçalo Amaral sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Laércio de Sousa hit a great freekick 35 minutes into the match. Silvério Saldanha sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 40th minute, Flavinho Matorin ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Cleiton Dracena was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. Wanderson Vieira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cleiton Dracena having to interfere. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Flavinho Matorin to make the kick off. Wanderson Vieira might have been able to make a better finish in the 51st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Cleiton Dracena. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Wanderson Vieira ran back to his position shaking his head. Wanderson Vieira received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Cleiton Dracena came out and tried to block the shot, but Wanderson Vieira slotted it home off the left post making it 0-3 in the 54th minute. Flavinho Matorin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Cleiton Dracena tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Cleiton Dracena made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Flavinho Matorin in the 61st minute of play. Wanderson Vieira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Cleiton Dracena made an important save on a dangerous shot by Silvério Saldanha in the 64th minute. Romário Fantini showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from José Koehler, who was totally free with the ball in the 69th minute. The referee ignored Maciota FC's protests and gave Caio Matos a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Cheltenham Town FSCMZ booed when Maciota FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 70 match minutes in a wonderful position. Caio Matos didn't get a good kick on the ball. Romário Fantini showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Paulo Queiroz in the 71st minute of the match. Flavinho Matorin's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Cleiton Dracena firmly grabbed it by the left post. Silvério Saldanha could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 74th minute of the match, but Cleiton Dracena made a huge save. If Flavinho Matorin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 78 minutes into the match, Cheltenham Town FSCMZ's goalkeeper Cleiton Dracena had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Silvério Saldanha.
