Duda Lago breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 10 minutes into the game, Falcão Miranda cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Váldson Neto was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Eliézer Damião sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 17th minute, Romário Britto got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 20th minute, Carlos Alberto Secco ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Váldson Neto was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-3. In the 22nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Covas FC's goalkeeper Váldson Neto, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Carlos Alberto Secco sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Váldson Neto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eliézer Damião in the 28th minute of play. After having played for 29 minutes, Carlos Alberto Secco managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Estrela Vermelha Paulista's supporters crossed their fingers, but Carlos Alberto Secco was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 31 minutes of play, Estrela Vermelha Paulista's Falcão Miranda made it 0-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Váldson Neto was left in no man's land by his defense there! Váldson Neto showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Falcão Miranda, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute. Falcão Miranda sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Estrela Vermelha Paulista's zone, Miguel Couto stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Duda Lago came out of the goal and Miguel Couto tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Flávio Rosa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 48th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Carlos Alberto Secco to strike the kick off in the second half. Covas FC's Váldson Neto played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Carlos Alberto Secco in the 52nd minute of play. If Luís Fernando Eger had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Carlos Alberto Secco received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Váldson Neto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 60 minutes into the game, Eliézer Damião cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-5. Váldson Neto was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After having played for 69 minutes, Flávio Rosa managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Váldson Neto was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After a defensive mix-up in Covas FC's zone, Falcão Miranda stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Váldson Neto came out of the goal and Falcão Miranda tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 79 minutes into the match, Estrela Vermelha Paulista's Eliézer Damião sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Váldson Neto narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Váldson Neto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Flávio Rosa in the 80th minute of play. With a little luck, Covas FC's Váldson Neto got control of the ball when Hortêncio Salgado tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 86th minute, Estrela Vermelha Paulista's Flávio Rosa ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Váldson Neto. Váldson Neto yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-7. Cristóvão Vidal fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Váldson Neto having to interfere. The Covas FC fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Estrela Vermelha Paulista were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
