The referee gave Romário Britto a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. After a rather tough play, Covas FC's Romário Britto got a free kick in the 29th minute. Samuca Vieira scored 1-0 in the 31st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Váldson Neto, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. A collision led to Cartoleiro FC getting a freekick after 33 minutes play. Matheus Mazza hit a great ball. Dedê Reis struck a weak shot in the 44th minute. Váldson Neto didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Cartoleiro FC. Dedê Reis could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 46th minute of the match, but Váldson Neto made a huge save. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Luís Fernando Eger made a kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Matheus Mazza in the 52nd minute of play forced Covas FC's goalkeeper Váldson Neto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 56 played minutes Covas FC got a freekick which was hit by Luís Fernando Eger. Váldson Neto showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Matheus Mazza, who was totally free with the ball in the 57th minute. 65 minutes into the match, Matheus Mazza had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Váldson Neto. Covas FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Cartoleiro FC the free kick. In the 69th match minute, Covas FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Miguel Couto to maneuver through the defense. 70 minutes into the match, Covas FC's goal looked a bit too open when João Augusto Lira came free, but Váldson Neto reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers João Augusto Lira in the 98th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Váldson Neto saved Covas FC from getting behind.
