Luiz de Mendonça's late challenge caught a Fama SC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Luiz de Mendonça helped the player get up and apologised. After 9 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Nativa FC! If João Francisco Ramos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Arí Mendes hit a great freekick 21 minutes into the match. If Wiliam Travassos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Through an outstanding action, after 27 minutes, Fabinho Pombal successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Wiliam Travassos in the 36th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Fabinho Pombal prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 41 minutes into the match, Nativa FC's goal looked a bit too open when Wiliam Travassos came free, but Fabinho Pombal reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Nativa FC's Fabinho Pombal played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Wiliam Travassos in the 44th minute of play. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.
