Elói Vale took the ball and in the 13 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Dário Britto. Dário Britto dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. When Sandrinho Furlan came up free with the goalie in the 20th minute, the Mecanibais fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Sandrinho Furlan couldn't finish the play. Hamílton Lira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. Dário Britto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Manoel Lara stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. If Sandrinho Furlan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Campinense F Clube's Claudinho Seco played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Manoel Lara in the 71st minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Elói Vale got free with Dário Britto in the 73rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Campinense F Clube's Claudinho Seco played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Manoel Lara in the 80th minute of play. Elói Vale recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 84th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 85th minute, Dalmo Barreto got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 87 minutes into the match, Mecanibais's goal looked a bit too open when Elói Vale came free, but Dário Britto reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Elói Vale fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dário Britto having to interfere. In the 92nd minute, Sandrinho Furlan left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Mecanibais fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-3. When the final whistle sounded Campinense F Clube left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Mecanibais.
