Alfredo Sá's late challenge caught a Fama SC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Alfredo Sá helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Florianópolis FC's Alfredo Sá got a free kick in the 10th minute. Wiliam Travassos's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Adalberto Hermes read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 19th minute of play. Juninho Machado fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Adalberto Hermes having to interfere. Adalberto Hermes came out of the goal in the 30th minute to try and stop a shot by Fama SC's Wiliam Travassos. But to his dismay, Wiliam Travassos quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Luís Gustavo Pereira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Paulo José Batista having to interfere. Through an outstanding action, after 39 minutes, Paulo José Batista successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ivo do Nascimento during the 47th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Ivo do Nascimento kicked well hit freekick during the 47th minute of the match.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Wiliam Travassos to make the kick off. After a defensive mix-up in Florianópolis FC's zone, Wiliam Travassos stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Adalberto Hermes came out of the goal and Wiliam Travassos tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 55th match minute, Florianópolis FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alfredo Sá to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, Fama SC's César Vander got a free kick in the 59th minute. In the 62nd minute, Wiliam Travassos fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Fama SC's Paulo José Batista played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luís Gustavo Pereira in the 65th minute of play. Juninho Machado might have been able to make a better finish in the 66th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Adalberto Hermes. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Juninho Machado ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 68th minute Wiliam Travassos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Adalberto Hermes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jefferson Marinho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 87th minute. Paulo José Batista tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Fama SC's zone, Luís Gustavo Pereira stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Paulo José Batista came out of the goal and Luís Gustavo Pereira tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.
