Adalberto Hermes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mané Esteves in the 10th minute of the match. In the 14th match minute, Florianópolis FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alfredo Sá to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mané Esteves in the 15th minute of play forced Florianópolis FC's goalkeeper Adalberto Hermes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 17th minute Evandro Godoi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Adalberto Hermes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Miguel Pernambucano had great luck who in the 20thth minute grab hold of the ball when Luís Gustavo Pereira from a short distance tried to put the ball inside the right post. Leandro Mendes's late challenge caught a Florianópolis FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Leandro Mendes helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Florianópolis FC booed when Geada SS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Leandro Mendes didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 27th minute, Evandro Godoi managed to get in a good position for a shot. Geada SS's supporters rose to their feet, but Evandro Godoi was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Adalberto Hermes breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Evandro Godoi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Florianópolis FC's Adalberto Hermes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Evandro Godoi in the 35th minute of play. Alfredo Sá got his second yellow card in the match during the 43rd minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. Geada SS's Evandro Godoi got a good chance for a goal in the 45th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Mané Esteves in the 46th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Adalberto Hermes saved Florianópolis FC from getting behind. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Evandro Godoi was the one to do the kick off. Adalberto Hermes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Evandro Godoi in the 52nd minute of play. With his leg Adalberto Hermes managed to avoid a goal in the 53rdth minute, when Geada SS's Mané Esteves fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Evandro Godoi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 57th minute. Adalberto Hermes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 59th minute Evandro Godoi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Adalberto Hermes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Evandro Godoi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Evandro Godoi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Adalberto Hermes having to interfere. Miguel Pernambucano showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jefferson Marinho in the 73rd minute of the match. After having played for 75 minutes, Evandro Godoi managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Geada SS's supporters crossed their fingers, but Evandro Godoi was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a rather tough play, Florianópolis FC's Luís Gustavo Pereira got a free kick in the 78th minute. Adalberto Hermes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Evandro Godoi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Luís Gustavo Pereira might have been able to make a better finish in the 85th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Miguel Pernambucano. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Luís Gustavo Pereira ran back to his position shaking his head. Evandro Godoi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Adalberto Hermes having to interfere. Mané Esteves sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The Florianópolis FC fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Geada SS were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
