That made the score 1-0 after 14 minutes of play. Luizinho Fontes kicked well hit freekick during the 18th minute of the match. In the 21st minute Edu Simões shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alexandre Gonçalves saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

Noturno FC's Augusto Chaves played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luís Gustavo Nogueira in the 72nd minute of play. The supporters of Legião Futebol Clube booed when Noturno FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 72 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luizinho Fontes didn't get a good kick on the ball. A nice corner shot did that Marcelo Leme got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Augusto Chaves quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Edu Simões in the 83rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Alexandre Gonçalves prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Alexandre Gonçalves made an important save on a dangerous shot by Frederico de Moraes in the 96th minute. Legião Futebol Clube's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
