With a little luck, Barragem's Zé Mendonça got control of the ball when Carlos Eduardo Penha tried to sneak it across the goal line. A sloppy throw-in by Edmundo Cearense in the 28th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Blumenkranz's Luiz Fernando Braga. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luiz Fernando Braga in the 29th minute of play forced Barragem's goalkeeper Zé Mendonça to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Zé Mendonça stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Guto Couto's shot from short distance in the 32nd minute. Carlos Eduardo Penha received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. Zé Mendonça tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 40th minute, Guto Couto fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. After having played for 43 minutes, Guto Couto managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Blumenkranz's supporters crossed their fingers, but Guto Couto was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Luisinho Paraíba fell near the penalty area in the 47th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Barragem's protests and gave Luisinho Paraíba a yellow card for diving instead. After 47 played minutes Barragem got a freekick which was hit by Luisinho Paraíba. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Blumenkranz's João Sergipano played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luisinho Paraíba in the 56th minute of play. If Guto Couto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 66 minutes into the game, Edmundo Cearense threw the ball into play from the sideline. Blumenkranz's Luiz Fernando Braga quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Luiz Fernando Braga recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 67th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 69th minute, Luisinho Paraíba hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 71st minute, Carlos Eduardo Penha left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Blumenkranz fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. Guto Couto received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 79th minute. Zé Mendonça tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 83 minutes, Guto Couto made it 2-0 with a short kick to the right side. Barragem's Zé Mendonça tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. The audience was convinced that Carlos Eduardo Penha's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Zé Mendonça was relentless in the 89th minute of the game. Zé Mendonça showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luiz Fernando Braga in the 90th minute of the match. 91 minutes into the match, Carlos Eduardo Penha notched a goal, 3-0, to the right of Barragem's Zé Mendonça. Zé Mendonça was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. If Carlos Eduardo Penha had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience was convinced that Guto Couto's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Zé Mendonça was relentless in the 97th minute of the game. Blumenkranz walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
