In the 24th minute, Cristóvão Brito hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Kléberson Brasil could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 26th minute of the match, but Anselmo Mendes made a huge save. Carlos Eduardo Penha could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 32nd minute of the match, but Anselmo Mendes made a huge save. In the 33rd minute Guto Couto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Anselmo Mendes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Anselmo Mendes breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Carlos Eduardo Penha had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Carlos Eduardo Penha was the one to do the kick off. The attack was good, but when Guto Couto in the 52nd minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. Anselmo Mendes came out of the goal in the 54th minute to try and stop a shot by Blumenkranz's Carlos Eduardo Penha. But to his dismay, Carlos Eduardo Penha quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. After a defensive mix-up in Lupercio SC's zone, Luiz Fernando Braga stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Anselmo Mendes came out of the goal and Luiz Fernando Braga tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Luiz Fernando Braga sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Lupercio SC's Anselmo Mendes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Carlos Eduardo Penha in the 63rd minute of play. Guto Couto fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Anselmo Mendes having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Lupercio SC's Jorge Zanette got a free kick in the 66th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cauan Trevisan got free with João Sergipano in the 68th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The audience was convinced that Carlos Eduardo Penha's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Anselmo Mendes was relentless in the 72nd minute of the game. Anselmo Mendes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Carlos Eduardo Penha in the 73rd minute of the match.
