Amauri das Neves took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gláuber Proença, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 20th minute, Gláuber Proença got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Váldson Valadares fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Amauri das Neves having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gláuber Proença in the 33rd minute of play forced Sagui MZ's goalkeeper Amauri das Neves to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a little luck, Sagui MZ's Amauri das Neves got control of the ball when Váldson Valadares tried to sneak it across the goal line. Gláuber Proença fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Amauri das Neves having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Váldson Valadares got free with Amauri das Neves in the 40th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Edson Pombal kicked well hit freekick during the 47th minute of the match. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Gláuber Proença stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Vicente Pinheiro came out of the goal and Narciso Soares tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Vicente Pinheiro made a fantastic save in the 67th minute, when Conrado Bertassi sent off a good shot on target. 75 minutes into the match, Gláuber Proença had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Amauri das Neves. Sagui MZ's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Gláuber Proença was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. Vicente Pinheiro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Narciso Soares in the 85th minute of the match. Gláuber Proença sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
