Benê Paiva took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 20th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Fernan Rodriguez. Ibiam's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Dráusio Vargas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 36 played minutes Ibiam got a freekick which was hit by Gildo das Neves. Fernan Rodriguez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Erivaldo Tavares in the 38th minute of play. Attilio Berardo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 40th minute of the match, but Basílio Valadares made a huge save. After some fancy dribbling in the 41st minute, Álvaro da Silveira managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ibiam's supporters rose to their feet, but Álvaro da Silveira was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Basílio Valadares breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Sandrinho Valadares sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Sandrinho Valadares couldn't finish the play. If Sandrinho Valadares had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Basílio Valadares made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Attilio Berardo in the 66th minute of play. In the 73rd minute the ball was on its way in behind AMERICA JUNIORS F.C. - MT's goalkeeper Basílio Valadares, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar.
