After some careless play in the Cavalaria FC defense, Mateus Perez kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of João Carlos Tróia. The Cavalaria FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that João Carlos Tróia should have stopped the shot. 13 minutes into the match, Aventureio's Erasmo Dias broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Aventureio's Mateus Perez got a good chance for a goal in the 17th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Dênis Aguiar fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without João Carlos Tróia having to interfere. If Mateus Perez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Mateus Perez sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Aventureio's Mateus Perez got a good chance for a goal in the 38th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 39th minute of the game, Cesinha Koehler landed unfortunately after trying to head the ball, and pulled a muscle in the back, so badly that he had to leave the field. When Nestor Coutinho fell near the penalty area in the 39th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Cavalaria FC's protests and gave Nestor Coutinho a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Cavalaria FC's Nestor Coutinho got a free kick in the 40th minute. Dênis Aguiar fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without João Carlos Tróia having to interfere. 44 minutes into the match, Cavalaria FC's goal looked a bit too open when Dênis Aguiar came free, but João Carlos Tróia reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Aventureio's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Benedito Domingues 46 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-2. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Dênis Aguiar to make the kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 53rd minute, Durvalino Furtado managed to get in a good position for a shot. Aventureio's supporters rose to their feet, but Durvalino Furtado was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. João Carlos Tróia breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. José Paulo Romero made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gilson Barral in the 61st minute of play. Dênis Aguiar's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but João Carlos Tróia read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 68th minute of play. Durvalino Furtado kicked well hit freekick during the 72nd minute of the match. Cavalaria FC's João Paulo das Neves couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Aventureio. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gilson Barral in the 83rd minute of play forced Aventureio's goalkeeper José Paulo Romero to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Virgílio Sampaio came up free with the goalie in the 95th minute, the Cavalaria FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Virgílio Sampaio couldn't finish the play. The Aventureio supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Aventureio would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
