Spectators: 7129 (Terracing: 5413, Seating: 1660, VIP seats: 56) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Thomás Tavares started the match with the kick off. Thomás Tavares recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 3rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The Monte Cristo FC fans' excitement grew in the 5th match minute when Monte Cristo FC's Thomás Tavares looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. André Novaes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aurelio Chaime having to interfere. Aurelio Chaime made an important save on a dangerous shot by Toninho Mendes in the 13th minute. Aurelio Chaime showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from André Novaes, who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute. After 21 played minutes South Hofler C.E got a freekick which was hit by Carlos Eduardo do Nascimento. After a defensive mix-up in South Hofler C.E's zone, Thomás Tavares stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dorian Loureiro came out of the goal and Thomás Tavares tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Thomás Tavares's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Dorian Loureiro read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 24th minute of play. After 26 played minutes South Hofler C.E got a freekick which was hit by Celso Vinhas. In the 27thth minute of the game Thomás Tavares who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but South Hofler C.E's Dorian Loureiro was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 28 minutes into the match, South Hofler C.E's goal looked a bit too open when Humberto Valladares came free, but Dorian Loureiro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. André Novaes hit a great freekick 31 minutes into the match. 36 minutes into the game, Thomás Tavares cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-3. Dorian Loureiro was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Toninho Mendes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 40th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Thomás Tavares might have been able to make a better finish in the 42nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Dorian Loureiro. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Thomás Tavares ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 46th minute, Júlio Tande got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After the first half Monte Cristo FC were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when André Novaes made the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Toninho Mendes in the 53rd minute of play forced Monte Cristo FC's goalkeeper Aurelio Chaime to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 53 minutes into the match, Monte Cristo FC's goal looked a bit too open when Toninho Mendes came free, but Aurelio Chaime reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With 54 minutes on the clock, Jorginho Coutinho commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. In the 53rd minute, one of Monte Cristo FC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Monte Cristo FC. The referee gave South Hofler C.E a penalty, 56 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Ronaldinho Vale, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Monte Cristo FC's Aurelio Chaime. 1-3. If Júlio Tande had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 67th minute, Thomás Tavares managed to get in a good position for a shot. Monte Cristo FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Thomás Tavares was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Dorian Loureiro breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Aurelio Chaime showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Toninho Mendes, who was totally free with the ball in the 69th minute. Monte Cristo FC's Aurelio Chaime played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by André Novaes in the 73rd minute of play. When Thomás Tavares came up free with the goalie in the 78th minute, the Monte Cristo FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Thomás Tavares couldn't finish the play. In the 82nd minute, André Novaes made a precise shot to the right of Aurelio Chaime. Monte Cristo FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-3. If Humberto Valladares had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of South Hofler C.E booed when Monte Cristo FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 90 match minutes in a wonderful position. Thomás Tavares didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Toninho Mendes in the 91st minute of play forced Monte Cristo FC's goalkeeper Aurelio Chaime to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Raphael Paraense came free in the 94th minute and tried to tip the ball over Dorian Loureiro, but to the joy of South Hofler C.E's supporters the ball hit the crossbar and out. Dorian Loureiro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Andrei Cernea in the 96th minute of play. Monte Cristo FC's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
